A community of practitioners shaping UK fire engineering practice.
The SFPE UK Chapter is an Affiliate Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), the world's leading professional society for fire protection and fire safety engineering professionals. Re-established in 2014, the Chapter supports the advancement of fire protection engineering across the United Kingdom and promotes excellence in the profession.
Our mission is to strengthen the competency, integrity, and ethical practice of fire engineers through knowledge sharing, professional collaboration, and lifelong learning. We seek to advance both the science and application of fire protection and safety engineering while supporting the development of a highly skilled and respected profession.
The Chapter delivers a varied programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, including technical webinars, in-person seminars, conferences, and networking events. These provide opportunities for practitioners, researchers, regulators, academia and industry leaders to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging challenges, and promote best practice across the built environment.
In addition to our educational activities, we contribute to the wider development of the profession through participation in British Standards Institution (BSI) committees and engagement with technical and industry initiatives. As part of the global SFPE network and the SFPE European Chapters Coordinating Group (ECCG), we support collaboration and the advancement of fire protection engineering both in the UK and internationally.
