SFPE UK Chapter 2026 Conference – Call for Abstracts Now Open!
The SFPE UK Chapter Committee is pleased to announce that the call for abstracts for oral and poster presentations is now OPEN.

🎯 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: The Science Behind the Guidance
We welcome submissions that advance science, guidance, or deepen understanding of fire safety engineering, particularly within a UK context. Everyone is welcome to submit, including practitioners, academics, and beyond!
Submissions may be based on published or unpublished work. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, challenges, advancements, and research relating to current guidance, such as:
● Challenges, advancements, and research relating to current guidance
● Sustainable construction fire safety (e.g. mass timber, green walls, photovoltaics, retrofitted buildings)
● Tools for performance-based design (CFD, structural modelling, evacuation modelling, AI)
● Modern fire safety challenges (e.g. wildfires, e-bikes, electric vehicles)
● Case studies of fires and fire safety engineering (innovation, best practices, review of current practices, historical buildings)

● One submission per presenter / lead author
● Include:
◊ Name of presenting author
◊ Names of co-authors (semicolon separated)
◊ Institute of lead author
◊ Institutes of co-authors (semicolon separated)
◊ Corresponding author email address
◊ Preference for oral or poster presentation
◊ Presentation title (≤ 25 words)
◊ Extended abstract (≤ 1500 words), including:
▪ Introduction
▪ Methodology
▪ Results
▪ Discussion
▪ Key conclusions
📋 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬:
● Abstracts will be assessed on relevance, novelty, and suitability
● Submissions will not be reviewed blind over a 2-week period
● Authors will be notified on the acceptance of their abstract and the selection of their abstract for an oral or poster presentation.
